most outages will put guys on early, up to a month in some places and most outages will be working 12 hours a day

vogtle nuclear has an outage scheduled for 3-07-10 in georgia possibly 26 days or longer if you get on pre-outage. carpenters hall 283, phone # is 706-722-4445 the B.A. is bob jenkins but the secretary can put you on the list as well

also, alberta canada has work, and years worth of it, i am a carpenter out of local 54 chicago, just upgraded my scaffold card last month and after i get my fbi background check back hopefully will be going to work up there, 7 - 10's as i understand it, pay is around $40.00 an hour, typically they house you in a camp, free housing and 3 meals a day., check out http://oilsands.infomine.com and www.fortmcmurrayonline.com, check with your locals, or district council, they sent out a fax to the carpenters union a month a ago looking for 200+ guys in february/march, you need a passport, and pass a fbi background check, they will pay for air fare to and from.

They are still hiring for comanche peak and they increased the per diem to $85 a day.
