so in the u.s. does that mean that all the best workers of any trade are part of a union?  i'v a lot to learn,  it ssems like you have different ways of going about work over there.  i'v been told that its the ubc union.  once joined does that cover you in all  areas of the country?

Yeah a 4' bar can handle some weight before failing.  Theyre using non union boilermakers on this outage and theyre pretty sloppy.  On this outage alone they had a guy lose a finger, one had his legs pinched between a wall panel and the scaffold, and another got hit in the head with a chain fall.

there must be some fantastic pressure to make that tube bend.  doesnt bear thinking about what it could do to some unfortunate scaffy.  scary!

Yeah, its cuplock.  But we have to tube and clamp alot of tight areas.  That bar was caught by an air tugger inside the boiler.

interesting pics simon. is that gear cuplock?  on one of your pics it looks like it could be tube & fitting (clamp)
